Threshil 24th 1241 T.S:
The party entered the cave network and descended down a side passage. They encountered a goblin ambush at the bootom of the passage, it appeared as if they had interrupted some sort of card game. After a breif (and rather brutal) fight the goblins were dispatched with only Stacey receiving minor burns from the goblins alchemist fire.
“Locked” in a nearby cave Barry Cook waited and watched (with more than a little horror and sadness) as the little green human who imprisoned him were brutally slaughtered by these home invading pale skinned Orcs.
Yurina Kajita awoke in a dark hole to the sounds of battle nearby. After some struggling she managed to dislodge the rock barring her way and continued to stumble around in the dark. She eventually noticed a light coming from one of the other “Cells” and investigated it. Within the other prison she saw a strange pale blue skinned humanoid pitifully attempting to open his cage to little avail. She assisted him by opening the rock from the far side and the duo tried to make good their escape. They then discovered another cell, it was promptly opened and within they found the “Human goblin citizen” Gregory who seemed civil enough. The blue man then somehow removed the boulder barring the way out of the cells from existence briefly allowing the trio to escape into the light.
After dispatching the goblins a conversation was struck between Barry, Praline and Stacey. The humans explained to the slightly distraught Koribear that the “little Green Humans” were actually goblins, evil creatures who would terrorize the surrounding lands if they were not stopped. This placated some of Barry’s objections to the Goblins slaughter, agreeing to work with the group but he implored them to seek a peaceful solution if possible.
Yurina, Gregory and the Blue man walked down the shadowy hall towards the sounds of conversation overtook the din of battle. They rounded the corner to find themselves staring down the point end of an arrow. In this Words were exchanged and tensions eased somewhat, the myssterious blue man suddenly blinked out of existance much like the boulder previously, leaving not but a simple stick engraved with runes of healing. Wyr took this moment to go and ensure that the rear flanks were secure and slipped away back up the tunnel entrance. Not soon after her departure a yelping sound was herd coming down another passageway. Charlotte who was guarding that particular tunnel was attacked by several vicious rat like dogs. The conversation was halted and battle once again commenced.
The dogs funneled out into the room swiftly and were met and dispatched with a multitude of blades, bludgeons, sticks and stones. One of the dogs even briefly learned to fly as it’s airborne carcass was eviscerated to ribbons before it found then finding the ground.
The majority of the party resumed talking among one another while, Praline and Stacy proceeded to scout down the tunnel from which the dogs came. They found two more Goblins cowering in a pile of filth, one foolishly tried to strike Praline and was promptly decapitated, the other threw up it’s arms an surrendered.
The rest of the group soon followed after a time and they all met up in a cramped hairpin bend, thinking that there was nothing left the prepared to head back when suddenly the wall of a nearby passage they presumed empty was more or less vaporized only to reveal a wide brim hatted figure to emerge from the settling dust. Thaydrin Wolfsbane Introduced himself to the still rather shocked party and then they departed.
After reaching the main cave the party headed back to the camp at Centro to give their report and rest up. The travel was uneventful. The party reported their findings to Mortimir Bismark. He took custody of the goblin prisoner and polity informed Yurina that she would be working for the expedition (with payment of course). He also indicated more or less the same to Barry Cook.
After having Stacy show them to their quarters Barry, Yurina , decided to go out in search of ingredient’s to make more palatable food than that which was provided. The group found many berries and assisted Barry in making many delicious waffles, which were promptly eaten and enjoyed. Their cooking attracted the attention of many of the soldiers all of whom Barry was delighted to share his creation with. The local innkeeper even asked Barry to cook for him in his spare time citing his obvious skill with a skillet as invaluable to his establishment.
Then they slept…
